I've got a pupil who is registered disabled , he's making good progress but with one problem , when we stop on a steep hill he hasn't the strength to apply the handbrake enough , if he maneges to pull it up enough he then hasn't got the strength to release it  . I've been using a technique involving the foot brake . is there any aids to assist him

Possibly JohnP is your man for this.

He had a device at his CPD course that fixed to the handbrake. Maybe send him a PM?

Hi Steve

Try looking at the Jeff Gosling hand controls site, hand brake extn kits.

I sent my local DTAM a message regarding a similar problem some time ago and the advice was that the foot brake use would be accepted unless it was a pedestrian crossing or words to that effect. I will try and locate the email reply so that I do not miss- quote.
